Marshall Chalmers, M.O.M.,
Chief of Police (Ret.)

Marshall Chalmers served 31 years with the Camrose Police Service and was appointed Chief of Police on January 1st, 1999. Prior to being appointed Chief of Police, he served 7 years as Deputy Chief In charge of Operations, Development and Learning , Internal Affairs, Major Crimes, Drug Section and Patrol Division.

Chief Chalmers (Rtd.) completed numerous executive development courses and holds a number of certifications. He has received training in the area of media liaison and has been trained as an expert in casino gambling.

He is Past President ( 4 ½ yrs) of the Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police. He is a Life Member of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

He has been awarded the Canadian Police Exemplary Service Medal , the Alberta Law Enforcement Long Service Medal, the Alberta Centennial Medal and Canadian Exemplary Service Bar. In addition he has been awarded the Order of Merit for Police Forces from the Right Honourable Michaelle Jean, Governor General of Canada.

Since retirement, he started M.L.CHALMERS CONSULTING INC., and for the past year has worked extensively on pandemic planning with Dr. Pitsel of Pitsel and Associates.
